Shop till you drop on the island
of Aruba. One great thing about shopping here is that there
is no sales tax. Aruba has the advantage of being a low-tax-free
member of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which makes it a fairly
good place to buy European luxuries, jewelry, and perfume. Oranjestad
is the primary shopping area with several open-air malls, a
wharf-side market, and a half mile stretch of top stores. Since
the town is small, all the stores are located |
within a few blocks, and you can easily walk to each. Great buys
in Aruba are cigars, designer clothing, English china, Indonesian
fabrics, Caribbean rum and liqueurs, and Aruba Aloe beauty and health
products. One tip when going shopping on the island of Aruba is if
you see something you like grab it. Since the price on the tag is
the price you pay, and most likely it is a discounted price already.
