Boston Culture
|
|
A true American city, Boston
encompasses various cultures, religions, and social classes.
It cannot be characterized in a single definition, but instead
must be appreciated for its multifaceted personality. Walking
down the street or waiting for the T, you will constantly be
serenaded by musicians of all genres. The suburban areas in
Boston are cluttered with religious Catholic iconography, and
churches are spread throughout the city. Coffee houses on weekend
afternoons are always crowded with |
diligent students pounding away at laptops. The North End serves
up pasta dishes that taste like they came straight from the kitchens
of Italy, and China Town will deliver plate after plate of dim sum
for brunch. In Beacon Hill, be on the lookout for the likes of former
presidential candidate John Kerry, who resides in one of the area’s
signature brownstones. Around Fenway Park, you can spend an evening
watching the city’s beloved Boston Red Sox - just don’t
mention the New York Yankees. Residents born and raised in Boston
have a vocabulary of slang expressions and distinct accents, which
set them apart from people of any other city.
