Dublin Weather
Irish weather is often called “unsettled,” but the
island enjoys fairly constant temperatures. Most days throughout
the year are greeted with thick fog and clouds, but it usually clears
by noon.
A cold, winter’s day in Dublin will usually never drop below
35 degrees Fahrenheit, and the country hardly ever sees snow. In
the spring, expect temperatures in the low to mid 50s, and for the
summer months, temperatures can climb to the high 60s. July and
August tend to be the warmest months and the peak time for swimming,
but May and June are the sunniest with the days of late June and
July lasting until after 10PM before the sun fully sets.
The off-season runs from mid-November to mid-March. Although you
may find cheaper travel and amenities, seasonal hotels, restaurants
and minor attractions close during this period.
Most rain clouds pass quickly, but bring a light raincoat and a
hat and/or umbrella so you can be comfortable when exploring the
streets of Dublin.
The Irish
Meteorological Service posts current weather forecasts for
the island.
