The Nehru Planetarium is a great place to visit if you are interested
in science, learning about astronomy, or just want a day away from
the sun and beaches in India. The Nehru Planetarium was built on
3rd March, 1977. The planetarium is designed to motivate people
as well as inspiring students on the importance of scientific study
of astronomy. Programs at the planetarium include, science quiz
concerts, Astro-painting, Science elocution, Astro-poetry and Astro-quiz
competitions. Special arrangements are made to watch, study and
photograph Solar & Lunar eclipses, and many other events. Telescopes
are installed outside the planetarium for eager visitors to watch
various Stellar and astronomical events. Hey you never know you
might see a shooting star, or an extraterrestrial creature? The
Planetarium also has a mini planetarium that projects special shows
for children and parents teach them about space. Call in advance
to make sure what shows and special events are playing during your
visit. All in all, this is a fun and relaxing atmosphere to spend
the day at!
