Munich Weather
Because Munich is in southern Germany, the city has a range of temperatures
and can have bouts of rainy weather. The winter temperatures get
down into the mid-30s, while summer temperatures rarely get above
the mid 70s. Temperatures from November through April can often
get down to freezing or several degrees below that. But temperatures
usually warm up to several degrees above freezing during the winter.
August is often the warmest month when high temperatures average
around 73 degrees F. The perfect time to visit may be in the middle
of May. You arrive before the summer tourist season picks up, but
you can enjoy nearly everything the summer has to offer, plus witness
the fertile beauty of Bavaria. Munich is a large city, but it is
very green and colorful. Large flower pots line the old city, small
grassy areas teem with wild flowers, and strips along sidewalks
and roads are often sprinkled with daffodils, tulips and other blooms.
When the weather is warm, the beer gardens are busy, the Italian
ice cream shops have fresh products, and locals flock to the street
cafes.
