New Zealand Shopping
|
|
New Zealand offers a variety
of shopping, but with limited hours. Most stores are open
from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and just some are open
on Saturday and Sunday.
Despite these hours, you will find numerous options from
arts and craft markets to exquisite galleries filled with
beautiful Maori carvings made from wood, bone |
and jade. You will also find jewelry and ornaments made from the
paua shell, a souvenir indigenous to New Zealand.
If you are looking for home or office decorations, New Zealand
is well recognized for its stunning pottery work, as well as its
ornamental stone, wood glass and metal artwork. With its large wool
industry, you will find many hand-knitted wool sweaters. If you
knit yourself, pick up some homespun yarns and sheepskins, which
is of top quality.
For those fashionistas, boutique stores align Auckland’s
streets full of world-known name brands and New Zealand’s
own labels: Zambesi, NomD, Karen Walker and World.
