New Zealand Weather
New Zealand has mild temperatures throughout the year, with moderate
rainfall and many hours of beautiful sunshine. However, its two
geographical features-the mountains and the sea-determine the weather.
The temperature is pretty temperate. January and February are the
warmest months of the year, while July is the coldest. The far north
has subtropical weather during the summer and inland areas of the
South Island can be as cold as –10 degrees Celsius during
the winter. Despite its mostly moderate climates, the temperature
can change unexpectedly with its close proximity to the ocean. You
can experience a cold front or a tropical storm, so be prepared
for changes in weather if you spend much time outdoors.
Most of New Zealand receives hours and hours of sunshine, however
UV rays are significantly high so bring high SPF sunscreen to avoid
the strength of the sun.
