Washington DC Culture
|
|
Three words that could be used
characterize Washington DC’s culture are diplomatic, refined
and charismatic. Ironically, these characteristics as also common
traits of politicians. One can only assume that the cookie cutter
political image rubbed off on the rest of the Washington DC’s
population. After all, most working class people interface with
politicians and government employees in some way or another.
Furthermore, politicians are local celebrities in |
Washington DC Why wouldn’t people model themselves after
them?
Washington DC does have a college element. Not surprisingly, most
of the students at nearby George Mason and Georgetown University
are political science majors and law students. People that live
in Washington DC are not flashy. Typically grays and blues are worn.
Even political liberals dress conservative. Though, a few high fashion
boutiques have sprung up around the city. The nation’s capital
demands respect and admiration and the culture of the people reflects
that demand.
