New Orleans. |
The Big Easy.
Start
with a hearty dish of French heritage, blend well with some
Cajun spices, mix in some voodoo, add a touch of cool jazz,
serve with a side of southern hospitality and you’ve
got New Orleans. No other U.S. city has preserved their heritage
better then New Orleans. History is all around you in the
world famous French
Quarter. New Orleans is more or less the only U.S. where
it seems like you’re in a different country (or even
a different time).
Spend a day browsing the many art galleries
throughout the French Quarter. Another day, take a riverboat
tour on the Mississippi. Start your evenings out relaxing
to the sounds of smooth jazz at one of the city’s many
jazz clubs. While you’re at it cool down with a delicious
mint julep or two. Have dinner at one of New Orleans’
celebrated Cajun style restaurants. As the night
progresses, you’re likely to end up on Bourbon
Street. No matter what season of the year it is, Bourbon
Street is one of the most fun places on the planet. After
all Bourbon Street gave birth to the tradition of giving Mardi
Gras beads to women who lift their shirt.
Life in the Big Easy is slow time. While you’re there,
leave all your cares and worries behind and enjoy all that
New Orleans has to offer. Chances are you’ll be missing
the city’s southern charm when you’re gone.
