As the largest living organism in the world, the Great Barrier Reef is a must-see
for any Australian tourist. Various companies offer trips out to
sea to experience the natural beauty of coral, exquisite tropical
fish in every color imaginable, and an incomparable underwater life.
Trips range from a simple one-day taste of the reef to full-blown
scuba diving certification excursions. Some companies even let you
live on an island in the ocean for a few days. Most of these trips
dock from the northern part of Australia—usually Cairns or
Port Douglas. Companies will supply the food and all gear necessary.
If you are a little timid of the underworld or of swimming in general,
you can try snorkeling—a less expensive option. Trained divers
will take you out to a point of the reef where you can swim and
explore on your own. Snorkeling allows you to have more freedom
with discovery than does scuba diving (in which you would stick
with a group of people throughout the dive).
Prices vary depending on length and type of trip, see website for
details.

Experience
the thrill of a lifetime with the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb--
Voted one of the top 10 things to do in the world by the Travel
channel. The climb is a 3 ½ hour adventure high above the
city. It begins with complex preparation, as you remove jewelry,
watches, etc. and take a breathalyzer test. Then, you adorn bridge
gear including a grey jumpsuit, raingear, gloves, all of which must
be connected to you in some way. Even glasses must be latched onto
you. Nothing can fall off or it may crack the windshield of a car
below. Before beginning the actual climb, you must go through the
climb simulator to make sure you are physically able to handle the
massive steps and ladders, and emotionally able to handle the height.
Once you step out onto the climb, get ready for the rush. Cars rush
past at 60 mph as you just hang on. Once you reach the top, a breathtaking
view of Sydney harbour awaits. Every color and light of every building
reflects into the water. The climb is now worth the effort, however,
definitely not for the faint of heart.

Australia’s Gold coast is one of the most popular Australian destinations.
With an abundant night life, plenty of clubs, and huge waves, the
young and the old hit the town named “Surfer’s Paradise”
to experience all this. Located in Queensland, Surfer’s Paradise
is a famous vacation spot—and it certainly lives up to its
name. Surfers from all across the world gather to hit some of the
best waves. If you do not know how to surf, it does not matter,
as you can join Australian Surfer School. Australian Surfer offers
half day adventure tours and surfing lessons. From some of the best
instructors, you can take stand-up surfboard or body-boarding lessons.
Even if you already know how to surf, you can perfect your sport
with this school as well. During the spring and winter months, you
may also see a whale or two. The school also includes all of the
equipment, food, photography service, and a tour through the beautiful
Gold Coast region from its sandy beaches to outdoor restaurants
and cafes.
